London Borough of Lambeth

The London Borough of Lambeth is one of the most diverse boroughs in the capital. Following the May 2026 local elections, the Green Party became the largest group, with Green councillor Martin Abrams elected as Leader.
Lambeth is a vibrant inner-London borough with strong creative, digital and life sciences sectors, and benefits from its central location close to the South Bank and Vauxhall. However, it also faces challenges: deprivation is acute in several neighbourhoods, child poverty rates are above the London average, and the borough experiences health inequalities linked to income, housing and race.
The Council's overarching framework, Lambeth 2030: Our Future, Our Lambeth, sets three mutually reinforcing ambitions - making Lambeth neighbourhoods fit for the future, one of the safest boroughs in London, and a place everyone can call home - united by a golden thread of equity and justice.
